Sheila Leunig

Sheila is General Counsel at PAI, where she oversees execution of the organization’s legal operations, supporting the legal needs of the PAI team, the Board, and the organization’s mission-driven initiatives.

For 14 years prior to joining PAI, Sheila owned and operated a boutique law firm in the Bay Area providing legal services to emerging growth companies in the ad tech, B2B SaaS, digital media, and entertainment software industries. Services included negotiation of complex commercial agreements, legal support for product development and distribution, content licensing, intellectual property asset protection, oversight on data use and privacy compliance, corporate governance, employment law, international expansion, and M&A activities for clients including Zynga, Ubisoft, Oculus, OnLive, AdRoll, Gainsight, and MobiTV. Prior to this, Sheila was Senior Counsel at LucasArts, a US based video game publisher of Stars Wars franchise acclaim, Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs at Eidos, a UK based video game publisher of Tomb Raider acclaim, and Senior Counsel at Cygent, a telecommunications SaaS platform provider.

Sheila currently sits on the Board of RYSE Youth Center, a teen center in Richmond, California, that creates safe spaces grounded in social justice for local kids to create, organize, and build community. She is also co-President and a Board member of the Piedmont Anti-Racism and Diversity Committee, an organization grounded in the principles of anti-racism that works to dismantle structures of oppression and create an inclusive community through activism and thought partnership with local institutions such as city government, the police department, and school district.

Sheila earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, with an emphasis in evolutionary biology.
