Jiyoo is a Research Fellow working on the ABOUT ML (Annotation and Benchmarking on Understanding and Transparency of Machine Learning Lifecycles) Initiative. Her work focuses on conducting mixed methods research to develop evidence-based recommendations for documentation of machine learning systems.

Prior to PAI, Jiyoo conducted research at the Institute for Human Genetics at University of California, San Francisco. As part of the P3EGS Program, she developed and implemented software tools and resources to help make genomic sequencing technology more accessible to underrepresented, underserved communities.

Jiyoo has presented her work at conferences such as the American College of Medical Genetics, the American Society of Human Genetics, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Foundation. She earned a B.A. in Biomedical Engineering from Dartmouth College.
